PixelAPI is the cheapest photogrammetry API with public, pay-as-you-go pricing. No monthly minimum, no subscription required to access the API. The pricing rule is simple: exactly half the cheapest mainstream rival rate.
| Provider | Free tier | Per-model cost | Output formats |
|---|---|---|---|
| PixelAPI | 5,000 credits (7-day trial), no card | $0.010 | GLB · OBJ |
| Meshy | Limited credits (see site) | $0.020 (pay-as-you-go) | GLB · OBJ · FBX · USDZ |
| Tripo3D | Limited credits on signup | $0.20 (20 credits × $0.01/credit) | GLB · OBJ · FBX · STL |
| Rodin (Hyper3D) | Business plan from $120/mo | $0.40+ (standard tier) | GLB · OBJ · FBX |
| CSM (Common Sense Machines) | Subscription tiers | See csm.ai/pricing | GLB · OBJ |
Meshy pricing verified from docs.meshy.ai/en/api/pricing, October 2026. Tripo3D pricing verified from developers.tripo3d.ai/en/pricing (1 credit = $0.01 USD, 20 credits/model), October 2026. Rodin verified from search of hyper3d.ai/pricing, October 2026. PixelAPI price from canonical pricing audit — always exactly half the cheapest rival's published pay-as-you-go rate.
Industry-standard format that loads directly into Unity, Unreal Engine, Blender, Three.js, and all major WebXR and AR viewing frameworks. One file, textures embedded.
Pass format=obj for a Wavefront OBJ file. Compatible with every 3D DCC tool and game engine. Ideal when your pipeline starts in Blender or Maya.
Pass format=all and the files object in the result contains both the .glb and .obj download URLs. No second API call needed.
Choose texture_size=512 for lightweight AR/mobile, 1024 for balanced quality, or 2048 for detailed product catalogue renders. No extra charge per tier.
3D generation takes 30–90 seconds, so the API is asynchronous. The flow is always the same three steps:
/v1/3d/generate → receive a job_id instantlyGET /v1/3d/status/{job_id} every 3–5 seconds until status=completedoutput_url returned in the status responseThe Python and Node SDKs abstract all three steps into a single awaited call. For raw HTTP clients, the recommended poll interval is 3 seconds with a 5-minute timeout ceiling.
The photogrammetry API fits directly into these production pipelines:
Convert catalog product photos to GLB files for Shopify and WooCommerce 3D/AR viewers. At $0.010/model, a 10,000-SKU catalog costs $100 in generation fees.
Remove background from product photos first, then feed the clean cutout to the photogrammetry API for higher-quality mesh segmentation.
Turn flat-lay product shots into GLB models for in-browser try-on and AR shopping overlays on iOS and Android.
Generate room-scale GLB models from a single hero image for "see it in your room" AR integrations.
Create interactive 3D product spins for tech product pages, reducing return rates on online purchases.
3D part visualization for aftermarket stores. Generate models from studio part shots at scale.
Auto-generate GLB models on product upload and attach them as Shopify 3D media assets via webhook.
No-code automation: trigger image-to-3D generation from any Zapier event and store results in Drive or S3.
Drag-and-drop 3D generation in Make scenarios — connect to your PIM, DAM, or CMS automatically.
Push generated GLB files into Webflow CMS fields for 3D product embeds on collection pages.
Batch-generate 3D models for WooCommerce product catalog and embed them with model-viewer.
Connect via Wix Velo or Zapier to auto-attach 3D assets to Wix product listings.
Same GLB output. Half the per-model price ($0.010 vs $0.020). No monthly minimum — pay per model from the first one.
PixelAPI is 20× cheaper per model ($0.010 vs $0.20). Same async REST pattern. Free trial with no credit card vs Tripo's signup-gated credits.
Rodin API requires a $120/month business plan before generating a single model. PixelAPI is pay-as-you-go from the first call.
CSM (Common Sense Machines) requires a subscription for API access. PixelAPI has no minimum commitment — trial + pay-as-you-go.

20 requests/minute on the free trial, 60 on Starter, 120 on Pro, and 300 on Scale — with 3/10/20/50 concurrent jobs respectively. Higher limits available for batch processing pipelines — contact support@pixelapi.dev with your expected volume.
Exceeding the rate limit returns HTTP 429 with a Retry-After header. Recommended: exponential backoff starting at 3 seconds, doubling on each retry up to 60 seconds. The Python and Node SDKs handle this automatically.
# Python SDK auto-retries 429 and polls the job automatically
from pixelapi import PixelAPI
client = PixelAPI(api_key="...", max_retries=4)
result = client.image_to_3d(image="product.jpg", format="glb")
result.save("product.glb") # SDK handles polling + retry internally
Failed jobs (status=failed) are automatically detected. Credits for failed generations are refunded — you are never charged for a job that did not complete successfully.
The photogrammetry algorithm extracts 3D structure from a single 2D image, so input quality matters. For best results:
PixelAPI's image-to-3D (i23d) API is the cheapest photogrammetry API at $0.010 per model — half Meshy's $0.020 pay-as-you-go rate, one-twentieth of Tripo3D's $0.20/model, and one-fortieth of Rodin's $0.40+/model. New accounts get 5,000 free trial credits (7 days) with no credit card required.
POST your image to https://api.pixelapi.dev/v1/3d/generate with your API key, choosing format=glb, format=obj, or format=all. The endpoint returns a job_id immediately. Poll GET /v1/3d/status/{job_id} until status=completed, then download the 3D file from output_url. See the Quick Start above for code in 6 languages.
GLB (binary glTF) by default — loads directly into Unity, Unreal Engine, Blender, Three.js, and WebXR frameworks. Pass format=obj for Wavefront OBJ, or format=all to receive both GLB and OBJ in a single response. Texture resolution is selectable at 512, 1024, or 2048 — no extra charge.
JPEG, PNG, and WebP are accepted. Maximum file size is 50 MB per image. A single clear product shot with good contrast between the object and background gives the best mesh quality. One image per API call — multi-view inputs are not yet supported.
Most models complete in 30–90 seconds end-to-end. The API is async — POST your image, get a job_id, then poll /v1/3d/status/{job_id} every 3–5 seconds. The Python and Node SDKs handle polling automatically, so you await one call and get the file back.
Yes. PixelAPI paid plans include a commercial-use license for all generated 3D assets. GLB and OBJ outputs are import-ready in Unity and Unreal Engine and load directly into WebXR and AR product viewer frameworks. See pixelapi.dev/terms for full IP ownership terms.
Yes. The API is designed for product photography pipelines: POST a product JPG and receive a GLB for embedding in Shopify, WooCommerce, or any AR viewer. At $0.010 per model it is economical for large product catalogs — 10,000 product SKUs costs $100 in 3D generation fees.
New accounts receive 5,000 free credits (worth $5 at $0.001 per credit) during a 7-day trial window. That is enough for 500 image-to-3D generations (10 credits per model) with no credit card required. Trial credits expire after 7 days — unused credits carry over if you subscribe.
20 requests/minute on the free trial, 60 on Starter, 120 on Pro, and 300 on Scale — with 3/10/20/50 concurrent jobs respectively (see pixelapi.dev/docs/parallel-processing.html). For batch processing pipelines contact support@pixelapi.dev with your expected volume.
PixelAPI charges $0.010 per model — half Meshy's $0.020 pay-as-you-go rate, one-twentieth of Tripo3D's $0.20/model, and one-fortieth of Rodin's $0.40+/model. All providers return GLB output. PixelAPI is the only one with a no-credit-card free trial and pure pay-as-you-go pricing with no monthly minimum.
Yes — pip install pixelapi. The SDK handles authentication, job submission, async polling, retry-on-429, and saves the 3D file to disk in one call. SDKs are also available for Node.js (npm install pixelapi), PHP (Composer), Ruby (Gem), and Go (go get).
Failed jobs are automatically detected and credits are refunded — you never pay for a broken result. The status endpoint returns status=failed with an error_message. Most failures are recoverable by retrying with a higher-contrast input image or a slightly different crop.
Yes. PixelAPI is a registered Indian business and issues GST invoices — 18% IGST for international clients, CGST/SGST for domestic. Invoice download is built into the dashboard.
